About

TechDiscountBar is a small editorial site that writes practical buying guides for home and personal technology.

What we do

We look at a category of product, such as smart locks, work out what genuinely matters to the people who use it, and then explain which options we think are worth your money. Our guides are written for ordinary buyers, not engineers, so we try to keep jargon to a minimum and explain the terms we do use.

How we research

Our team carries out structured desk research. We read manufacturers’ specifications, installation manuals and support documentation, compare features side by side, and look at what owners commonly mention after living with a product. Where we have not tested something hands-on in a lab, we say so. We do not publish invented test scores or statistics, and every specification we quote comes from a source a reader can check, usually the manufacturer’s own product page at the time of writing.

How we make money

TechDiscountBar is a commercial website. Some links on the site are affiliate links: if you click one and make a purchase, we may receive a commission from the retailer. This does not change the price you pay. Commissions help cover the cost of running the site. You can read the details in our Disclaimer.

Our editorial standards

• We only recommend products we believe suit the readers described in the guide.
• We point out limitations and compatibility issues, not just strengths.
• We update or correct articles when we learn that information has changed.
• Prices mentioned are those shown at the time of writing and may change.
